Where Orient Tales Meet Riga’s Light
The artwork
The peacock has always stood for effortless grace a little decadent, a little theatrical. In this piece, that aura unfolds like a feathered fan: you can almost sense spice-laden markets, cool palace gardens, the syrupy sweetness of distant delicacies, and whispering stories from the East. Yet the magic isn’t nostalgia it’s transformation.
Here, centuries of Armenian miniature traditions tiny birds, letter-motifs, and intricate arabesques held in the “genetic memory” of the art meet the bright, playful charm of Riga’s Jugendstil. The result is an oriental fairytale told with a distinctly Latvian accent: ornate yet fresh, ceremonial yet alive, luxe yet light on its feet.
